Short Profile

JoWomenomics (JW) is an autonomous, non-profit organization that was founded as an initiative in 2014 and registered in 2017 (Entity Registration #942) with a mission is to realize an ecofeminist economy in Jordan and the MENA region. JW set up FICRI – Feminist Integral Center for Research and Innovation – a new think tank to counter structural gender disparity and create local institutions and policies dedicated to comprehensive, evidence-based approaches to gender inequality in Jordan.

Setting up FICRI (Feminist Integral Center for Research and Innovation) as an independent nonpartisan think tank based in JORDAN committed to holistic, Integral, and feminist approaches to instigate radical inquiry towards a feminist economy in the Jordan. Thereby, developing a world where policies and practices enable an equitable environment, where power and resources are shared equally, and where earth nurtures life in all its diversity and where everyone on earth lives in dignity, love and respect.

Impact-to-Date

JW collaborates with 30 private sector entities, educating and ensuring livelihood opportunities to more than 700 vulnerable women. JW established 10 Local Committees (LPCs) and conducted ficr circles/community dialogues impacting 10,000 community members throughout the twelve governorates of Jordan
